For God alone
Lift up your heart to God and bow down to the Almighty God. Let your mind think of nothing but God alone, so that your mind may be possessed by his holiness. Pay no attention to earthly things and the purpose behind them, but to all things that are above, then, your mind will not be disturbed when these earthly things go away. In all these ways, you please God most, and all the angels and saints will rejoice and hasten to help you in all your ways. By these ways, all the souls in purgatory are consoled by the virtue of your work. There is no better way than this for you to be able to come close to God and be united with him.
Do not be afraid or regret when the world goes away from you; and do not give up even though your friends are angry or abandon you because you practice this beautiful virtue. Be firm in your faith, and keep in mind that God is all for you. Always remember that when you first begin to practice the way of holiness, the darkness will come and remain throughout our spiritual journey even until the end of your life. Thus, you should have no doubt or question about this dark cloud because even if you question it you cannot find an answer for yourself. Your mind cannot perceive or understand it by reasoning; but have faith in God that he, somehow, will use this dark night to purify your soul and sanctify your thought. Only faith can embrace the darkness and give you peace. And after all, God will grant you a great reward for your long yearning and steadfast longing.
When you allow God to enter into your soul He will make haste to come to you with all the angels and saints. He will instruct you and enkindle your heart with the flame of love, so that by love you may live for him alone and be there for others. By this love, you also might know who God is, because love alone comprehends love. By our intellect alone we cannot comprehend love.
Do not be in a hurry when you first begin your journey of holiness because time cannot measure his almighty being. He is the alpha and the omega. For him, a thousand year is as a passing day and even a passing second, so, do not try to count time rather try to count the times of the graces he gives you and the encounters you have with him.
Thus, our ultimate purpose of life is to be there for God and God alone, nothing else.
